We had to break this session into 2 days, that old nasty rain. Rachel photographed great. We were able to get a wide variety of looks, one of my favorites of course was the gun shots. Rachael is an award winning shooter, and that is a big part of her life. In a few weeks I am going to film her for my outdoor program, Inside the Wildside. So Rachael is going to be a big time tv STAR!! ha

Tatum’s Mom and Dad is David and Sonya of Covington. Before they had children David and Sonya would come and get their portrait done every year, I can remember it like it was yesterday, they would always get an 11×14. Anyway, Everybody normally has goals in their life. I have several, one of those goals was to get a beautiful smile from Tatum. I have photographed her at least 7 or 8 times in her life. I am a firm believer that the perfect picture of a child does not have to be smiling, as a matter of fact, the more timeless images they are not smiling. But my goal in every session is to get a wide variety of natural expressions. I never ask a child to smile, if they do it is because they are having fun. Have you ever asked your kid to smile, did it look natural? Probably not, so we do not want that look. Tatum always has beautiful pictures, but never a big natural smile, until this day. Now I can check that on off my list of goals. Next, I am going to see what it takes to go to Heaven! Just kidding, that is number one on my list, I checked it off about 18 years ago. PRAISE THE LORD!!!

Here is a photography tip for you guys, LIGHTING is priority one in photography. Good light-good quality Bad light-bad quality. Light is what records the image to your camera, and their is different qualities of light. If you have ever called to get an appointment for the late afternoon you’ve noticed that those slots are very few, why, because of the beautiful quality of light that only happens in that late afternoon. Anyway, enough of that. We arrived at Bo and Susan’s house about 45 minutes before we should have. We had to wait on that Sun to go down a little to have that quality of light. So Bo told me some wonderful hunting stories. Bo is a big outdoors man, and if you know me well, you know I film an outdoor program, so that 45 min flew by. Their girls have really grown up, It seems like yesterday they were 3months old in the studio. Boy, time flys.

Kelley Hood has 4 beautiful children! Maggie and Molly are the latest additions. They looked identical but they are not. They have the prettiest eyes, and the roundest little faces I have ever seen. You just want to pick them up and squeeze them. This is a record year as far as twins go for our studio. Must be something in the water. Cendi (my wife) if you read this, don’t drink any water!
